Acceptance of these terms

By installing or using Dinologue, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree to them, please don't use the app.

License to use the app

Maykrware LLC grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use Dinologue on devices you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not redistribute, sell, rent or reverse-engineer the app, or use it to build a competing product.

Educational purpose and accuracy

Dinologue is an educational reference. Its content reflects published scientific research as of each content release, and it marks where scientists disagree, but paleontology changes as new fossils are found and new analyses are published. Names, dates, sizes, classifications and reconstructions may be revised or may contain errors. The app is not a substitute for the primary scientific literature and should not be relied on as the sole source for research, publication or any decision of consequence.

Content and ownership

The app's featured articles, skeleton drawings, visual design and software are original work owned by Maykrware LLC. Species records and fossil occurrences from the Paleobiology Database are used under CC BY 4.0; reconstructed coastlines and site positions derived from the Müller et al. (2019) plate model are shared under CC BY-SA 4.0; map outlines from Natural Earth are in the public domain; and the fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License 1.1. Full credits are in the app under Settings → Data and images. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of any of this to you.

Third-party news

Headlines, summaries and articles in the News tab come from independent publishers and belong to them. Maykrware LLC does not write, edit or endorse them and is not responsible for their content or availability. Opening a story takes you to the publisher's own page, which is governed by that publisher's terms.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Maykrware LLC does not guarantee the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for any particular purpose beyond its intended use as an educational reference.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Maykrware LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app.

Changes

These terms, and the app itself, may change over time. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the terms as they stand at that point.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
